Students Withdraw siege to Satrasta-Mohakhali crossing
Dhaka, Jan 24 (bdnews7.blogspot.com) – Hundreds of students of Dhaka Polytechnical Institute in Tejgaon blocked the Satrasta-Mohakhali crossing for an hour on Saturday morning demanding rescheduling of exam dates, police said. "The final exam for the diploma-in-engineering is supposed to begin on February 11 but the students have carried out protests to delay the test," officer in charge of Tejgaon Police Station Shafiqul Islam Sikder said He further said some 500 students congregated on the campus and began rallying. "Later the principal talked to authorities of the technical education board and told the agitating students that their demands would be met," said Islam. The students went back to campus at 11am, he added.
